MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

From this module, I have learnt a lot not only about the topics in this module itself and also additional knowledge related to our daily lives which can help in our future. This subject is about strategic management, organizational structure, organizational culture and many more. In this module, we will have 20% for mid-term test, 30% group assignment and also 50% final exam. For the assignment, we are required to prepare a report followed by a presentation on how to develop a company with 10 million of capital. We will have to prepare a report regarding on our ideas on the profile of the company, the organizational culture and training development of the company we have created and present our information clearly in class by applying the concepts that we have learnt during lecture and tutorials.

 It is the first subject I have come upon about topics related to management. During tutorials in class for this module, our lecturer will divide into groups randomly and assigned the class with a task of making a short presentation about the topic we had learnt from the lecture last week to help us recall as well as improve our interpersonal skills. From all these activities, we could learn some teamwork with other people in class instead of your friends and also develop our leadership skills by asking us to volunteer being a leader during groupings. Moreover, after the presentations in tutorials, questions are being asked by our lecturer to make us think more and guide us indirectly to a more critical way of thinking as well as making us step out of our comfort zone. Therefore, I find it very interesting and challenging.

Besides, for midterm test, we also manage to learn about how to apply the concepts from lecture class with the situations given theoretically. As for the assignment, we were divided into group of 5 members to complete a task. This gave us an opportunity to interact with different people to develop an organized work done through teamwork and communication skills which I think will be useful for us in the future. Our lecturer always taught us and remind us that what we are doing right now and the people we interact with will be no difference compared to what we will encounter in our working environment in the future. In a nutshell, I have learnt a lot of things and knowledge that other module might not provide us and will definitely be useful for us in our working life.
