This module is known as Measurement
4 just like the previous semester while for this semester we learnt about the
external works such as surface water drainage, sewer drainage, pilling and
water reticulation. Basically, the assessment components will include a 20%
test on the understanding of clauses in SMM2 and also the measurement of all
elements studied until week 5. Next, we will also have two group projects. Project
1 is to measure elements of a double storey building and prepare a set of
Tender Documents while Project 2 will be an Elemental Cost Analysis (ECA)
Workshop where we have to prepare detail cost analysis of a building project as
well as a final examination which consist of 50%.
Our lecturer, Sr. Loo had taught us
the importance of clauses in SMM for our taking off list as well as the
accurate information to present during presentations. Besides, we learnt about
computer software, Glodon for this module which is lectured by Sr Yeap. I have
improved my communication skills during group projects as well as presentation
skills as both of the projects involve presentations. In conclusion, in this
semester, I gained more knowledge about the preparation of Tender Documents and
appreciate my group mates for their hard work in completing the projects.
